Lee Blessing, a native Minnesotan and internationally acclaimed playwright, will discuss his new play about Supreme Court Justices Warren Burger ‘31 and Harry Blackmun at a special event for Mitchell students and alumni at the History Theatre.
The event will immediately precede the March 1 preview performance of Blessing’s play “Courting Harry,” which explores the lifelong friendship between Burger and Blackmun, two best friends who grew up in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood in St. Paul.
A reception will begin at 6:45 pm in the History Theatre’s lobby, followed by the discussion with Blessing at 7 pm. The “Courting Harry” performance will begin at 8 pm.
Tickets are $30 for alumni and friends and $25 for students. Price includes dessert at the reception and the performance. The History Theatre is at 30 East Tenth St. in St. Paul.
