Frequent questions

I forgot my password to Symplicity, how do I log in?

Under the Symplicity log-in, enter your Username (your William Mitchell email address).
Click on “Forgot Password.” On the next page, re-enter your Username and click the “go” button.
Your password will be re-set and emailed to your William Mitchell account.

What should I wear to career-related events?

As a general rule, it is best to wear professional dress anytime you are meeting with attorneys either on campus or off campus. It is always better to be over-dressed for an occasion then under-dressed. For any event that our office is sponsoring where a particular dress code is suggested, we will note it on our marketing.

How do I upload my resume onto Symplicity?

Click on the ‘resumes’ link in the header, then click on the ‘Add New’ button. Enter a title for the resume and click the ‘browse’ button. Find the resume file you wish to upload and double click on it. Once the file appears in the box next to the ‘browse’ button, click the ‘submit’ button. While the system converts the resume into a ‘pdf’ format, the ‘Status’ column will read ‘converting.’ Once the resume is converted to ‘pdf’ format and ready to submit to employers, the ‘Status’ column will read ‘ready.’

How do I RSVP to an event?

All of our events that require a RSVP are listed under the Events section of Symplicity. Log in to Symplicity and click on the Events Tab. You will see the name of the event listed. Click on the Event and a page will open up with details and a place where you can RSVP yes to the event.

How do I prepare for my upcoming interview?

We have many resources for students and alums who are preparing for interviews. Please see our tip sheets with sample interview questions and other prep information. Interview Stream, a computer tool located in the library, allows students to do a practice interview for thetype of employer they are interviewing with. Through the use of a webcam, the computer records your answers to questions. When the “interview” is complete, you will have the opportunity to review your practice interview and you will be able to email it to one of our career counselors who can meet with you to review your performance.

Where are OCI interviews held?

On-Campus Interviews are held each fall on William Mitchell College of Law’s campus.

I cannot come to an event, will it be taped?

We try to tape panels and presentations we sponsor so students who have a class conflict can watch the program online. If you know that you will not be able to attend a program, but would be interested in watching a taped version of it, please contact our office prior to the event and we will try to arrange taping.

Where do I get my law school transcript?

The Registrar’s Office handles all student records, including transcripts. To access your transcript, log onto your student record and you can upload a copy of that transcript onto Symplicity the same way you would upload any other document.
