The library has two computer labs with thirty computers available for student use. Lab use is limited to students and recent alumni with Mitchell network credentials. The computers in the lab are equipped with the Microsoft Office 2007 suite as well as Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
Wireless access is available throughout the library. See Connecting to William Mitchell’s Wireless Network for login instructions.
The library has six laptop computers available to loan to students for college-related purposes. The computers are equipped with the same software applications found on the library’s lab computers and are configured to connect to the college’s wireless network. Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but may be reserved in advance for use on a final exam. Students are responsible for any damage to or loss of a laptop that is checked out to them.
The library provides six research terminals for the legal research needs of the general public. These workstations access the internet and the public legal research databases available in our library.
Four networked printer/copiers are located in the copy room next to the circulation desk and one networked printer is located on the 2nd level landing.
Students can print from the desktops in the computer lab or from their networked laptops. See the PrinterOn Campus Printing Service Instructions for detailed information on laptop printing.
Printing costs $0.04 per page for students. An annual $10.00 student fee covers the first 250 pages of printing or copying. Additional pages may be purchased at the circulation desk by cash or check.
Students can check their copy/print balance online. All unused pages will remain on students’ accounts until one year after graduation.
Non-Student Patron Printing
Non-student patrons may print from any of the Library’s six public research terminals. Prints are picked up at the Circulation Desk. Printing for non-student patrons costs $0.10 per page and the charges are paid when the prints are picked up.
Westlaw and LexisNexis Printing
Dedicated Westlaw and LexisNexis printers are located in Computer Lab 2. Students, faculty, and staff may print from Westlaw or LexisNexis at no charge.
