Two Mitchell teams finished in the top six at the Phil Alpha Delta 2013 Law Mock Trial Competition earlier this month in Washington, D.C. Thirty teams from law schools from across the country competed in the event.

The Mitchell team of Alyssa Thibert, Paul Buchel, Nodira Ismoilova, David Watson took third place, while the team of Amanda Sicoli, Jordan Humphrey, Nicole Wunderlich, and Nikols Mendoza Colmenares finished sixth.

“This is the only trial competition that is open to 1Ls and it provides a tremendous opportunity for students to gain trial experience,” said Andrew Stoebner, 3L, who was mock trial administrator and a coach. “Our teams have consistently improved their standing in the competition over the past three years. We hope that this program will continue to improve as this year’s competitors become next year’s coaches.”

The mock trial competition, one of the largest in the country, is hosted by Phi Alpha Delta, a professional law fraternity with hundreds of chapters throughout the U.S.
