A team of William Mitchell College of Law students has advanced to the final round of the American Bar Association’s National Negotiation Competition.
Students Kathryn Kimball and Perry Egertson teamed up to win the Region 7 competition, which was held at William Mitchell Nov. 9 and 10 and included 24 teams from law schools across the U.S. and Canada.
The annual competition attracts students interested in the art and science of negotiation and allows them to practice and hone their skills. Teams compete in simulations of legal negotiations and are judged by practicing attorneys, judges, and law school faculty.
Kimball and Egertson were coached by Mitchell graduates Ned Ostenso ’94 and Doug Heeschen ’06. The team is now preparing to compete for the national championship in Chicago this February.
