This course provides strategies for conducting advanced legal research with an emphasis on how the Internet and advances in technology have changed society and the practice of law. It builds upon the research skills students acquired in the first-year WRAP Program and doctrinal courses.

In addition to federal, state and local legal resources, the course will introduce students to alternative research sources and organizational tools, as well as strategies for successful interdisciplinary research. Students will explore the different approaches needed for policy and planning research versus transactional and litigation research.

A combination of lectures, homework assignments, in-class exercises and other activities will allow students to apply research concepts in practical settings.
