Energy Law (4614)
This course examines selected topics in the law of extraction, generation, and distribution of energy resources. Topics may include: (a) the law governing extraction of one or more fossil fuels (e.g., coal, petroleum, natural gas); (b) regulation of electricity production and transmission; (c) renewable energy; and (d) regulation of climate change.
Grading: Letter-graded. Based on in-class participation, exercises, and a final paper or final exam, depending on class size. The final paper would not be eligible for the Advanced Research and Writing requirement.
Prerequisite(s): None.
